At Southside Equine Clinic, we look forward to the opportunity of assisting you with this important first step in horse ownership.
A comprehensive examination by an experienced veterinarian will allow the buyer to make an informed decision prior to purchase.
The buyer's presence during the examination is encouraged, however, we understand your presence is not always possible and are happy to keep in contact by phone during the examination.
The clinical portion of the exam includes a thorough physical evaluation of the horse, including, but not limited to:
The slightest lameness may greatly diminish your ability to compete or enjoy activities with your new horse. Most buyers are expecting several years of continuing or increasing athletic performance from their horse.
Radiographs are a valuable tool in detection of wear and tear that may not be causing current performance issues or evident during the physical examination. They also provide a baseline that may aid in alleviating future buyers concerns.
